I'd like to offer my early condolences to [info]alyson_layn and [info]grover173 on their school's first-round exit from the tournament.  They had a good run, guys.

The 5-12 "upset special" seeding makes me really nervous, but you DID see us lay the smackdown on Duke, right? I think Villanova should be very, very afraid.

Apparently there's some pretty nasty Nova trash talk on some of their boards...sadly it's degenerated into southern stereotypes in most instances. I haven't looked at a lot of it.

Clemson fans are dishing it out pretty heavily on this side too with the "damn yankee" stereotype, which is similarly disappointing. It got so far on one Nova board that one Nova fan put up a photo of a lynching. Yikes.

That's pretty rich, since the basketball team constitutes about 25% of the black students at the school. They don't call it Vanilla-Nova for nothing.

Here are some actual numbers, though I'm not sure of their source or date: 10,367 students, 390 of whom are "black non-Hispanic." Suffice it to say that a `Nova supporter using segregation imagery to trumpet his school's culture of integration doesn't have much of a leg to stand on.
